Tom is the author of several of our Educational Outreach plays including the groundbreaking and highly topical THE BOY WHO CRIED BULLY that grew out of Tom's graduate work in seeing first hand the effects of school bullying. BULLY has now been performed across the country and created the demand for Tom's next work also performed as part of the Outreach Company, MEAN GIRLZ R BULLIES TOO. Tom is also the author of our highly acclaimed series of plays on Civil Rights which grew out of his experience as a teacher of US History; the plays FREEDOM RIDERS, NO EASY ROAD TO FREEDOM and MARTIN AND MALCOLM: HOW LONG MUST WE WAIT have also been performed for students across the country and featured at the National Constitution Center. The Outreach Company is part of the education programs that include the award-winning Adopt-a-School Program, the Theatre School, Camp Walnut, various School and Community Partnerships, the Walnut Street Theatre for Kids Series, Student Matinees, a Professional Apprentice Program and Accessibility programs. Tom received the Dorothy Haas Acting Fellowship at the Walnut in 1991 and performed as an actor in Philadelphia and Los Angeles before beginning a career as an educator at every level from elementary to graduate school. A graduate of Bucknell with a degree in Theatre Tom holds a Masters in Education from West Chester University and a Masters in Education Administration from Gwynedd-Mercy College. Tom resides in Delaware County with his wife, Susan Nicodemus Quinn and their two young children.
