Each year hundreds of kids fill America's Oldest Theatre to watch their favorite books come to life right before their eyes. The Walnut Street Theatre for Kids Series is celebrated for bringing families together through reading and the arts. Each season encourages parents and grandparents to read to their favorite kids and then bring them to see the stories come to life on stage.

This June, WST for Kids is doing something extra special for kids and families. Skippyjon Jones author and illustrator, Judy Schachner will be visiting Walnut Street Theatre on Saturday, June 2nd to meet with fans and sign copies of her famous book in the Theatre's lobby immediately following performances of TheatreWorks USA's production of Skippyjon Jones. On this day, audiences will not only have the chance to see their favorite little 'fraidy-cat face his fears on stage, but they will also get the opportunity to meet the woman who created it all!

Skippyjon Jones is a little kitten with big ears and even bigger dreams! He longs to be someone different, so he transforms himself into Skippito Friskito, the greatest canine sword fighter in old Mexico. But when Skippyjon is challenged by a bullying bee, will he be a 'fraidy-cat or the top dog? Find out in the delightful musical encouraging kids to follow their dreams.

Tickets for Skippyjon Jones are only $10-$15. This one hour musical is recommended for audiences grades K-6.
