Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, DreamWorks MADAGASCAR – A Musical Adventure JR. features original music and lyrics by George Noriega and Joel Someillan and a book by Kevin Del Aguila. As the show opens we meet Alex the lion, the star of New York City's Central Park Zoo, and his best friend Marty the zebra. While Alex loves the fame and free steaks that come with being the city's most famous lion, Marty longs to experience life outside of the zoo. When Marty escapes, Alex, joined by his friends Gloria the hippo and Melman the hypochondriac giraffe, follow him...only to get caught up in an adventure that takes them far away from the city, into the madcap world of King Julien's Madagascar.
