2023 · Cat on Hot Tin Roof
In the winter of 2023, the Walnut heated things up with a production of the Tennessee Williams’
Pulitzer Prize-winning play,
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. The classic drama featured Matthew Amira as Brick
and Alanna Smith as Maggie. Costume design for this production was by Mary Folino, who began her
career at the Walnut as a costume shop apprentice in 2001. Folino went on to become the costume shop
manager for a time, and has designed more than 40 productions here, both on the mainstage and in the
Independence Studio on 3 theatre.
