Properties Manager

Walnut Street Theatre, America’s oldest theatre, is seeking an experienced Properties Manager. WST produces a 5 show mainstage season which consists of 3 musicals and 2 plays, and various children’s shows as well as educational outreach tours. WST operates a scenic and prop shop with a full-time seasonal shop staff. The Properties Manager is responsible for all prop-related purchases, construction, and rentals. Duties include working with designers and directors to determine prop needs, creating budget estimates, adhering to departmental budgets, maintaining prop workshop and stock, managing both IATSE labor and apprentices, and overseeing installation and strike for all productions. Qualified applicants should have professional props supervisory experience, demonstrated expertise in prop-related technology and techniques, strong communication, organization, time management, and collaborative skills, and familiarity with standard office and design software. This is a full-time, year-round position. Salary is $55,000. Benefits include employer paid single health insurance coverage and life insurance.

Head Props Artisan

Walnut Street Theatre, America’s Oldest Theatre, is seeking applicants for the seasonal IATSE position of Head Props Artisan to work at WST’s scene shop. Position works alongside the Props Manager, Props Artisans, Props Apprentices and assistants. Position is responsible for building props for all in-house productions. Skills required: carpentry, metal working (MIG welding), basic wiring/electrics, sewing/upholstery, scenic painting, and molding/casting. Applicant should also be able to lift 50+ lbs and have the ability to drive a 16ft box truck for props transport. This full-time position operates under an IATSE contract (Local 8), though all interested applicants are encouraged to apply regardless of union affiliation. This seasonal hourly position is eligible for overtime and might require some evening and weekend hours. Current rate is $30.65 per hour.

Production Management Apprentice

The Walnut Street Theatre seeks a Production Management Apprentice to join the 25-26 Apprentice Class, to start immediately. This apprenticeship concludes in June of 2026. The Production Management apprentice will assist the Director of Production and Assistant Production Manager with various office tasks including maintaining budgets, payroll, sourcing, purchasing, and general advancement of shows and events. Ideal candidate will be self-motivated, eager to learn from theatre professionals, and comfortable working on a team in an office environment. Flexibility, a sense of humor, and experience with lighting, sound, and other theatrical departments is preferred. Position holds some night and weekend hours.

Ticketing Services Agents

The Walnut Street Theatre, America's Oldest Theatre, has openings for part-time Ticketing Services Agents to handle incoming telephone inquiries, ticket sales and exchanges. $15 per hour with bonus incentives. Shifts include daytime, nights, and weekends. Previous box office or ticketing experience is a plus, but not required. Work in a friendly, organized atmosphere and see all productions for free.
