Gregory Peck starred in the war-related play The Morning Star to open the 1942-43 season. The show was not a success once it moved to New York, however, and Peck returned to the Walnut in November to try out The Willow and I. Peck went on to a successful film career, winning an Academy-Award for his performance as Atticus Finch in the 1962 film To Kill a Mockingbird.
