Gloria Swanson appeared at the Walnut during the 1942-43 season in Three Curtains, a trio of one-act plays by George Bernard Shaw, J.M. Barrie and Arthur Wing Pinero. The show was Broadway bound until there were problems with Swanson's co-star during the Boston run, and the production was shut down.
