1951

In the fall of 1951, the Theatre Guild opened the Walnut's season with The Relapse, or Virtue in Danger. This 17th century comedy of manners was directed by and starred Cyril Ritchard. He stole the show as Lord Foppington, a role that resembled his most famous role as Captain Hook in the 1954 production of Peter Pan. Ritchard is shown here (right) with co-star Madge Elliot.
