In 1929 the Walnut presented 
Maggie the Magnificent by Pulitzer Prize-winning 
playwright George Kelly. A member of the prominent Philadelphia Kelly family, 
George was brother to John, an Olympic rowing champion, and uncle to future 
Princess Grace of Monoco.  Kelly got his start in vaudeville, but went on to 
have success as a playwright with 
The Show-Off and 
Craig's Wife, among other
